Heart Health Week
2/10/13-2/17/13
This year, we had a whole week of wonderful activities that raised money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. On Sunday, we started the week off with Zumbathon: Move Your Phi't! Where various Zumba teachers came and held a two hour long Zumba class that everyone was invited to. Dancing and being active in general is important in promoting a healthy heart and lifestyle. On Tuesday, we had a banner signing that was donated to Strong Memorial Hospital. Wednesday we hosted a heart healthy dinner with University Health Services in one of our dining halls that featured delicious dishes like fish and couscous, whole wheat pasta, and apple betty. Sunday was our Ivy Ironman event, where multiple groups on campus were able to participate in various activities and compete for prizes like gift cards. Sigma Chi's pledge class won the overall competition, and all the money raised was donated to the Alpha Phi foundation!

Congratulations to the Alpha Phi Derby Days team for being the Derby Days champion for a second year in a row! As reigning Derby Days champions, Alpha Phi has continued to be one of Sigma Chi's biggest philanthropic supporters and will celebrate with honor, a special reward, and favoritism at future Sigma Chi events. Thanks so much to Sigma Chi Fraternity, and especially our captains Peter Liebman, Dan Cohen, and Tyler Scarborough, for holding such a great week of philanthropy events to benefit Children's Miracle Network.

Thanks so much to the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and the National Panhellenic Council (Panhell) for putting on another amazing Greek Week. Events included Greek Lip Sync, a Minute to Win It event, kickball, basketball, and miniature golf tournaments, and a Greek God and Goddess event. Amazing job, sister Celia Lenarz, in representing us as Alpha Phi's Greek Goddess. Congratulations to the team of Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Alpha Mu, and Delta Sigma Theta for being this year's Greek Week champions!
